Joshua 1:9 (New International Version)

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

--Another verse for Jake :D

Today, my brother in Christ, Jacob leaves for Turkey. The day is sad, and the weather is cold. But our hearts are rejoicing in the Lord. In the flesh, Jacob is leaving us. But in reality he is still in our hearts. Still walking with us, encouraging us in the Lord. The Lord has called him to Turkey, to teach his Word, and to be a light in a dark room. Can any of us honestly say we would take the step of faith that Jake and many others have taken? Trusting in the Lord, even if it doesn't seem possible. I would like to say I would. But I know myself all to well, so, at the same time. Maybe I wouldn't. Would I be like Jonah and run? What would you do?

Jake has listened to what he knows the Lord has called him to do. So lets give him our support. Please pray for Jacob's traveling, and his stay over in Turkey for the next six months. Please pray he stays safe.

I can't wait to hear all the amazing stories he will have for us.

May God be with you,
Hollianne

Philippians 1:3-11 (New International Version)

Thanksgiving and Prayer
3I thank my God every time I remember you. 4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

7It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me.8God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

9And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Proverbs 4:1

Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding.

HEy!

Hey everybody! For those of you who do not know, once I graduate I want to go down to PCC down in Florida for college. I first thought I wanted to go for business to become a wedding planner. I have decided though that I want to go to become a counselor. Biblical counseling needs to be restored in churches immediately before more Christians are sent into an alien world for help. Pastors and lay people who have this call of God on their hearts CAN begin a counseling ministry. The gift of counseling has been given to edify the church and to glorify God. If anyone has any advice for me, leave them in the comments please.

1 Peter 4:10-11 (New International Version)

"10Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.11If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

Bible verse of the day

Ephesians 4:1-3 (New International Version)

Ephesians 4

Unity in the Body of Christ
1As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
There is so much more things I could've done to honor and glorify God.  Things I should've mended, things I could've said, people I could've talked to... When it comes down to thinking about what we should have done, it just shows us so much more we need to do, and how much we truly are sinners. I don't derserve anything! I have sinned so much, done so many things that make other people question the reality of Christ. Yet, aside from all of this, I'm still loved, forgiven, and accepted  by Christ. It's such a wake up call to know Jesus died for all of our sins. He died on the cross, regardless of the fact we deserve it, not him.

God is great!!!!

God is GREAT!

Hey everybody! God is great. Lately, a lot of things have been going on and changing in my life. I am not one who particularly loves change, but this change is going to be awesome. I was dreading Kevin leaving, [sorry Hamar], but I got to know Hamar better, and now I am so excited that he is taking over. I can not wait for the changes that will come with that. With Kevin leaving, so are the Nichols. I wasn't too happy about that. I didn't think that it was their best interest leaving, I was prepared to go with Kevin. Then I stepped back, and realized the only reason I wanted to go was not the right reasons to leave. I realized that what God was doing was preparing me for what was to come. I did not understand it then, but now I realize that God was preparing for the Nichols not to be in my life. He was telling me I was leaning too much on Steven and not enough on Him. Once I came to the realization that going to Grace Road church was not in my best interest, I started backing away from my relationships with the Nichols, without actually backing away. I know that if God did not start to prepare me for what was coming then, I would not have the attitude I have now with what is going on. God prepared me, and started easing me down from a place that could have been very hurtful to me now. With the right preparation, when all of this went on, I was hurt, but not to a point where I was running away from the creator. I have gotten passed the point of Steven not being in my life, taken away the hate towards his parents for the decision that was made. I know they were only God's messengers who were carrying out God's plan. If it is in God's plan later on, then they will be brought back into my life, maybe when my life is on track for him and I am the Godly woman he needs/designed me to be.

We don't always understand what is going on while it happens, but in the end, it all turns out the way it is intended to..

God is great!

Hello Beautiful Creations

Hello everybody! It's been so long since I have written anything! These past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy; lots of change has been going on. Change that wasn't particularly wanted, but I suppose was needed. You don't notice how much you isolate yourself, until the thing that distracts you is gone. As I have been taking on these changes, I have been praying like crazy to God. Asking him to take away any pain that may come out of this, any hatred that may come as a result, and helping me just focus on him, instead of all the worldly factors around me. I would actually like to thank the people who induced this change; you don't notice things you try to ignore. But when the actual change comes, it's actually not that bad. It may be hard, but what I have been doing is take all the time spent on that one thing and in turn focusing on God. What a wonderful creator he is! I would love to stay and write more, but I would like to keep this shorter tonight, I'm very exhausted-- Woke up at 5:30 today to get ready to volunteer for the JDRF walk today. Then work all day long. Which, I couldn't even be dropped off at work- a result of the Memorial Day parade in town today. So, with 3 minutes before I had to be there,  I got out of the car like 1 1/2 miles up the rode and sprinted! I made it =D

God is great, God bless you all!

Bible verse of the day!

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

If you keep the faith in Jesus Christ, you can do anything you set your heart out to do. Jesus is a light to our path, with him all things are possible...

Sometimes, when things are going on in your life, you don't always understand the purpose. Then you look to God, and it's like the wall infront of you is removed. God is the answer to everything. We may not understand everything that comes our way, but God has his hand on everything. He never lets us go, or forgets about us. He always is there with us, going through our struggles with us...

To sum it up, God is great!

Bible verse of the day

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”- Romans 12:12

Thursday, April 30, 2009

When somebody judges you, what do you do? I know I would tell my friends. What do your friends usually say? They say you you have two choices, believe they are right, or prove them wrong.
But if you think about it, why do you have to prove them wrong? To feel accepted, to feel liked or wanted by that one person? But if you know that you are standing firm in Christ, does what they think honestly matter?
If all we are doing is trying to be accepted, we aren't going to go very far. Why, do we feel like we need to be accepted, when Christ, the God of the universe, the creator of all, isn't even accepted.
Instead of trying to prove them wrong, can't we just talk to them, ask them about their thoughts and reasoning... Then just consider them?
Don't just always try to prove them wrong, they might not always be wrong.

*Romans 2:1-3
“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.”- Ephesians 4:15

Bible verses of the day

Rom 2:1-3
You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgement?

Being your own person is a very important thing. I have grown up in a family where people have not made the smartest decisions, but have lived with them. I am my own person, and I plan not to make the same mistakes. With God on my side, I know anything is possible, and I will make it all the way. God is great.

Hello everybody! I'm very sorry I have not had the chance to write anything lately! I have been extremely exhausted lately. By the time 9:30 even comes around, I'm exhausted. This past week, I have been up for testing, which thankfully ended yesterday morning. THen I have had work afterwards, so that wasn't a help to the sleep part. By the time I got home everyday, I passed out for nice little hour nap... then my day is gone. =[ I'm sorry I have shown lack of dedication to my blog. Hopefully tonight will have a new edition.. :) I love you all....

Hello dearest readers! Tonight, I went to a Group 1 Crew [G1C] concert over at Houghton College- Ny. A fabulous night, but I am quite exhausted!!!!! So I'm off to do stuff for tomorrow then bed, and work tomorrow =]. Love you all,

Second day on the job folks, and in my point of view it went fabulous! I am understanding much more as far as cashiering goes... and I can tell the differences between plants. =] This may not seem like an accomplishment, but I assure you, that for me being 200% blonde, it surely is. Right now, I am very exhausted. My days are extremely tiring. I don't want them to become a habit, and cannot wait for them to return to my normal swing. Waking up early, then taking a shower, eating lunch and running out the door for my training at Gro-Moore Farms. Returning home to do things around the house and hang out outside. [[Missing my favorite 7th Heaven---which I'll just buy the seasons]] Then having dinner and dishes, talking online until 10pm, then reporting to my room to do my schoolwork for the next day. Not going to bed some nights until 1am. Not a very good scheduele. Soon though, my training will end, and things will go back to normal. Almost. Tomorrow, a few of my friends and I are going to a Group1Crew concert. Too bad its not a Rob Pat concert.... :( I can keep wishing, can't I? Irish dance ends soon, which is very unfortunate. Vbs is around the corner, along with many unwanted changes. This has gone from a blog entry, to my life story. haha. Well, I can't talk to everybody reading this, seeing as I don't know who reads it. But my love goes out to everybody.

Hugs,
Hollianne.

Bible verse of the day

:)

Hello friends! Today was my first day at Gro-Moore farms. =] It was a very productive day today. I scored great on my history test, worked and ran. I have to keep this very short today, I have to finish up school work for tomorrow, for I have to work again tomorrow. Thanks for staying faithful to my blog, even when I am not.

With tons of love,

Bible verse of the day! -April 14th

“[The Resurrection of Christ] Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. Hey everybody! Thanks for reading... Tonight I have to keep it short, I have to finish studying for my history test I have tomorrow morning. Tomorrow I start my job training at Gro-Moore Farms. Very exciting. God is great. I hope everybody is striving their best to live their life the way God intends you to. I will write more tomorrow about my first day on the job.

Love you all,
Hollianne :)

April 13th -Bible verse of the day!

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”- Romans 3:23-24

Sunday, April 12, 2009

Today is Easter Sunday. A great representation of the death, resurrection, and love the father had for us. Something we did not and never did deserve. Yet, some people take this love he has for us for granted. Just like how some people take communion too lightly. I think that people should take this love, and communion as something that we lucky to have. Go into the world with the same love that the father has for us, and we can change the world.

Much love for everybody,
Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday -Bible verse

“Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”- Luke 9:23-24

I'm exhausted, and looking forward to a good night sleep. Especially since I did not sleep well this past night. Hugs to everybody!

Wednesday, April 8 -Bible verse of the day!

“For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”- Romans 5:10

Grace

God is great! As of two days ago, Naomi Hannah woke up! Exciting. Faith in Jesus Christ and the love people gave her really helped. God can do wonderful things, and with a little faith anything can happen. Nothing is impossible. No matter how nervous and anxious I am for my interview tomorrow, I know that I will not be alone. No matter where I go, God will be there right with me. Knowing this piece of information will help us get through any situation. Let us all go into this Easter holiday knowing that God is right by our side, knowing that he loved us so much, that he sent his only Son to die for our sins. Something we didn't and still never will deserve. Grace.

Goodnight everybody, I love you all.

Tuesday, April 7-Bible verse of the day!

“[Jesus Again Predicts His Death] Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”- Matthew 20: 17-19

Bible verse of the day!

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”- Isaiah 53:5-6

Bible verse of the day! -Isaiah 53:3-4

“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.”- Isaiah 53:3-4

Sorry everybody for the lack of posts lately. I have been very busy, and out of energy by the time I can blog. Lately, I have been trying to figure out where God wants me to go when Kevin officially opens his church. There are pros and cons on either choice I decide to make. So, I have been focusing on trying to figure out what God wants me to do. Praying, reading His word, and just attending both church's services. I hope I can figure out what he wants me to do. I know God will help me decide.

I love you all, hopefully, I will post more tomorrow.
God bless, Hollianne

Bible verse of the day! Daniel 12:8-10

Hey everybody, sorry I'm so behind on everything. I was gone for the weekend. So here is today's Bible verse.

Daniel 12:8-10 (New International Version)

8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"

9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

Has anybody ever had somebody falsely accuse you of being or doing something? They don't always think through what they are saying when they say it. But doesn't is tear you up when you are being accused of something wrongly?
Recently, I was told that out of all my brothers and sisters, I was the rotten apple. The one who was going to tear up our teen youth group at church.
The person who said this to me has not apologized about this statement, and must still think it's true.
In my point of view, this is a very incorrect statement. I have strived very hard in my very short life to live differently from the way those around me have lived their lives. I have tried not to be the same as any of my brothers, sisters, or parents. For they all have decisions that they are not proud of.
I went to public school from kindergarten until the end of my sixth grade year. I realized during that summer, that going to public school, and hanging out with the "in" group, was not doing anything good for me, and was bringing me down with my walk with Jesus Christ. As a result, I started working on my own behavior that summer. I got very involved in my youth group, and decided that being homeschooled would be the best option. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my entire life. I tried taking out all the bad things in my life.. with this, I removed most of my connections with a lot of my old friends. Keeping a very small amount of them close to me. This was another very good decision. Only hanging out with my friends from the youth group really helped me get my life back on track.
During my seventh grade school year, I kept getting convicted with the messages about purity and preserving yourself for marriage. I pondered it, and prayed a bit about it. One night in the summer, I found myself writing out a promise to my parents, myself, God, and my future husband. Staying pure and living my life for God, promising not to drugs or alcohol, I signed that promise and I posted it behind my door, as a constant reminder to myself of the promise I made that day. This wasn't enough for me. I mean, anyone can look at at a sign on their door, and forget about it. So I started looking into promise/purity rings online. I eventually got one, and now I have that as a constant reminder too.
Everyday I try to do my best to satisfy my parents, and live for and honor them. When I am told that I am the rotten apple, this really makes me upset. Since I have tried living my life as a good example to those around me.

After saying ALLL of that, I just wanted to leave you guys with this... The next time you go to accuse somebody of something, make sure that you are not making a mistake with who you need to be talking to.

I am not holding anything against this person, for I still love them. But I wish they would think about what they are saying to somebody before they say it. :]

Bible verse of the day <3 One of my favorites

"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love."

-1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Bible verses of the day! -Zechariah 10:1-3

Zechariah 10:1-3 (New International Version)

The LORD Will Care for Judah

1
 Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime;
it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds.
He gives showers of rain to men,
and plants of the field to everyone.

 2 The idols speak deceit,
       diviners see visions that lie;
they tell dreams that are false,
       they give comfort in vain.
Therefore the people wander like sheep
oppressed for lack of a shepherd.

3 "My anger burns against the shepherds,
       and I will punish the leaders;
for the LORD Almighty will care
for his flock, the house of Judah,
and make them like a proud horse in battle.

Bible verses of the day! MArch 16, 2009

I have a couple of verses for everybody today! Enjoy!

Ecclesiastes 9:10 [NIV]

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."

Colossians 3:23-24 [NIV]

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
Right now, I am applying for jobs, which is extremely hard to do when you're 14. Especially when there are so few places that will hire you. I'm extremely nervous, and I hope that the process will be quick. Keywords are "I hope." Unfortunatly, it probably won't be. So ontop of schoolwork, irish dance, church, eating, (showering), and sleeping, I am now job-hunting. Yay!!! If you have any ideas of where I could be hired at 14, let me know. Until then, babysitting will be my key job. With Djing on the side with my dad. Both of those come only once and awhile, but I am more than grateful with what I have so far. If anybody needs prayer, because they cannot find a job, be sure and let me know. I will be glad to pray for you and your job situation.

Hollianne

Sunday, MArch 15, 2009 -Acts 4:10,12

10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Bible verse of the day!

Psalm 25:3
No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I'm sorry I have not posted anything in quite a few days. This recent time change has made me quite exhausted lately, and as a result by the time I have time to do anything, I'm to tired to. My apologies.
Recently, my church has been going through some changes. Our youth pastor is going off to start his own church come September. With him, he is taking multiple groups of people from our church. My family is still undecided as to what we are doing. Everyday I tell myself that these changes are for the best, and yet, sometimes I think that these changes are a bad thing. I begin to doubt the plan that God has given them. As if I am in the position to do so...
In some ways I am excited for the changes going on. Knowing that church planting is a very important thing. I realize that the reason I don't want these changes to occur is simple, I am afraid of change. I like going through the same routine, it makes me feel comfortable to know what's going on. When such major changes begin to occur, they begin to kind of freak me out. I know that the new youth pastor coming in will be great, and that the new church will bring in many more new Christians. Yet, I still have that little bit of doubt...
I think the reason for that doubt is because people don't like being taken out of their comfort zones. It makes them nervous. Who do people usually go to for these situations? [Besides God], their best friend. What happens if they lose that person though? I believe that my doubt, the doubt that is a result from change, from fear, from not being comfortable, is also a result from being apart from my best friend.
What makes me feel horrible is that this doubt is unnecessary! I know that everything that is happening is in God's hands, and still, I'm afraid.

Matthew 14:30-32
"Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. 'You of little faith,' he said, 'why did you doubt?' And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down."

Wednesday March 11, 2009 -Proverbs 6:16-19

Proverbs 6:16-19 (New International Version)

There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:

haughty eyes,

a lying tongue,

       hands that shed innocent blood,

a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,

a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Cliques..?

We all know that there are cliques in school. Everybody wants to be in the "cool" group...Which is almost impossible to get into, unless you are willing to step out of your comfort zone. Nobody likes Cliques, and everyone agrees that they shouldn't be around. Then, the one place that there shouldn't be Cliques, there is.. church. Church is supposed to be the place where everyone is accepted and is equal. So why are there Cliques? We need to do something Christians!!!!! We need to show people, that no matter who they are, no matter where they are from, they are always welcome! We need to love them. Let's start this, let's get rid of those dang cliques!!!!

Biblical guidelines for dating & relationships

I did some research about Biblical guidelines for dating and relationships.. I grabbed some things off of Christian Answers.

I will probably use Christian Answers in the future. Here is a good section from it though!

"1. Guard your heart.
The Bible tells us to be very careful about giving our
affections, because our heart influences everything else in our life.

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23).
2. You are known by the company you keep.

We also tend to become like the company we keep. This principle is closely related to the first one and is just as important in friendships as in dating.

Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33).
3. Christians should only date other Christians.

Although it is fine for Christians to have non-Christian friends, those who are especially close to our heart should be mature believers who are seeking to follow Christ with their lives.

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14).
4. Is it really love?
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 defines real love. Ask yourself these questions:
    • Are you patient with each other?
    • Are you kind to each other?
    • Are you never envious of each other?
    • Do you never boast to or about each other?
    • Is your relationship characterized by humility?
    • Are you never rude to each other?
    • Are you not self-seeking?
    • Are you not easily angered with each other?
    • Do you keep no record of wrongs?
    • Are you truthful with each other?
    • Do you protect each other?
    • Do you trust each other?

If you answered “yes” to the above questions, then 1 Corinthians 13 says that you truly have a loving relationship. If you answered “no” to any of the above questions, then maybe you should discuss those issues with your boyfriend or girlfriend."

The World Around Us

"Back in the good ol' days." Has anybody ever heard that statement before? [I know I have.] Sometimes people overlook that, think that they are crazy for thinking that times in the past were better than growing up now. In some ways they weren't, but at the same time, I sympathize with people who say that, to a point, they are correct.

I want you to answer a few questions. [1] Do you think that it is right, that people are afraid to walk down the street at night, because they are afraid something bad will happen? [2] Do you think that it is allowable for kids to drop out of school? [3] Do you think that is excuseable for people to be married more than once? [4] Or to have sex outside of marriage?

If you ask a majority of the people in this world, they will at least say yes to 2, if not 3 of those questions.

Back in the good old days;

1.You didn't hear of all these stories of kids being murdered for walking down the street. You weren't afraid to walk past windows at night, because of the chance someone was looking in. Why, is that not the case nowadays?

2. Kids weren't allowed to drop out of school, and if they did, they weren't allowed to come home.  Why has that changed now?

3. People who were married to someone other than their husband or wife, [first one, of course] were considered scarlet letters. You were looked down upon. Now, people change spouses like they do dishes.

4. People used to be so much more 'old fashioned,' it was definatly inexcuseable to have sex outside of marriage. It never happened. People were so disciplined back then. Nowadays, people lose their virginity [outside of marriage] by the age 18. [66.2% of Americans lose their virginity before age 18.] (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Why is this? Back in the good old days, the world was brought up with Christian morals, and a majority of the people still believed in God. They knew what the difference between right and wrong was, and they knew that their was a Father who enforced this law.
If you mention God these days to somebody, there is a very good chance they won't listen, maybe won't even talk to you.

Maybe, just maybe, everybody is right. Those were the good ol' days. Living nowadays is much harder, the world around us is very corrupt. There will be a day where Jesus will come back and reign again, and until that day comes, we can only pray for the best, and teach his law. Fight back!
