Bible verse of the day!

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”- Isaiah 53:5-6

Bible verse of the day! -Isaiah 53:3-4

“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.”- Isaiah 53:3-4

Sorry everybody for the lack of posts lately. I have been very busy, and out of energy by the time I can blog. Lately, I have been trying to figure out where God wants me to go when Kevin officially opens his church. There are pros and cons on either choice I decide to make. So, I have been focusing on trying to figure out what God wants me to do. Praying, reading His word, and just attending both church's services. I hope I can figure out what he wants me to do. I know God will help me decide.

I love you all, hopefully, I will post more tomorrow.
God bless, Hollianne

Bible verse of the day! Daniel 12:8-10

Hey everybody, sorry I'm so behind on everything. I was gone for the weekend. So here is today's Bible verse.

Daniel 12:8-10 (New International Version)

8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"

9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

Has anybody ever had somebody falsely accuse you of being or doing something? They don't always think through what they are saying when they say it. But doesn't is tear you up when you are being accused of something wrongly?
Recently, I was told that out of all my brothers and sisters, I was the rotten apple. The one who was going to tear up our teen youth group at church.
The person who said this to me has not apologized about this statement, and must still think it's true.
In my point of view, this is a very incorrect statement. I have strived very hard in my very short life to live differently from the way those around me have lived their lives. I have tried not to be the same as any of my brothers, sisters, or parents. For they all have decisions that they are not proud of.
I went to public school from kindergarten until the end of my sixth grade year. I realized during that summer, that going to public school, and hanging out with the "in" group, was not doing anything good for me, and was bringing me down with my walk with Jesus Christ. As a result, I started working on my own behavior that summer. I got very involved in my youth group, and decided that being homeschooled would be the best option. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my entire life. I tried taking out all the bad things in my life.. with this, I removed most of my connections with a lot of my old friends. Keeping a very small amount of them close to me. This was another very good decision. Only hanging out with my friends from the youth group really helped me get my life back on track.
During my seventh grade school year, I kept getting convicted with the messages about purity and preserving yourself for marriage. I pondered it, and prayed a bit about it. One night in the summer, I found myself writing out a promise to my parents, myself, God, and my future husband. Staying pure and living my life for God, promising not to drugs or alcohol, I signed that promise and I posted it behind my door, as a constant reminder to myself of the promise I made that day. This wasn't enough for me. I mean, anyone can look at at a sign on their door, and forget about it. So I started looking into promise/purity rings online. I eventually got one, and now I have that as a constant reminder too.
Everyday I try to do my best to satisfy my parents, and live for and honor them. When I am told that I am the rotten apple, this really makes me upset. Since I have tried living my life as a good example to those around me.

After saying ALLL of that, I just wanted to leave you guys with this... The next time you go to accuse somebody of something, make sure that you are not making a mistake with who you need to be talking to.

I am not holding anything against this person, for I still love them. But I wish they would think about what they are saying to somebody before they say it. :]

Bible verse of the day <3 One of my favorites

"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love."

Bible verses of the day! -Zechariah 10:1-3

Zechariah 10:1-3 (New International Version)

The LORD Will Care for Judah

1
 Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime;
it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds.
He gives showers of rain to men,
and plants of the field to everyone.

 2 The idols speak deceit,
       diviners see visions that lie;
they tell dreams that are false,
       they give comfort in vain.
Therefore the people wander like sheep
oppressed for lack of a shepherd.

3 "My anger burns against the shepherds,
       and I will punish the leaders;
for the LORD Almighty will care
for his flock, the house of Judah,
and make them like a proud horse in battle.

Bible verses of the day! MArch 16, 2009

I have a couple of verses for everybody today! Enjoy!

Ecclesiastes 9:10 [NIV]

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."

Colossians 3:23-24 [NIV]

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
Right now, I am applying for jobs, which is extremely hard to do when you're 14. Especially when there are so few places that will hire you. I'm extremely nervous, and I hope that the process will be quick. Keywords are "I hope." Unfortunatly, it probably won't be. So ontop of schoolwork, irish dance, church, eating, (showering), and sleeping, I am now job-hunting. Yay!!! If you have any ideas of where I could be hired at 14, let me know. Until then, babysitting will be my key job. With Djing on the side with my dad. Both of those come only once and awhile, but I am more than grateful with what I have so far. If anybody needs prayer, because they cannot find a job, be sure and let me know. I will be glad to pray for you and your job situation.

Sunday, MArch 15, 2009 -Acts 4:10,12

10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Bible verse of the day!

Psalm 25:3
No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I'm sorry I have not posted anything in quite a few days. This recent time change has made me quite exhausted lately, and as a result by the time I have time to do anything, I'm to tired to. My apologies.
Recently, my church has been going through some changes. Our youth pastor is going off to start his own church come September. With him, he is taking multiple groups of people from our church. My family is still undecided as to what we are doing. Everyday I tell myself that these changes are for the best, and yet, sometimes I think that these changes are a bad thing. I begin to doubt the plan that God has given them. As if I am in the position to do so...
In some ways I am excited for the changes going on. Knowing that church planting is a very important thing. I realize that the reason I don't want these changes to occur is simple, I am afraid of change. I like going through the same routine, it makes me feel comfortable to know what's going on. When such major changes begin to occur, they begin to kind of freak me out. I know that the new youth pastor coming in will be great, and that the new church will bring in many more new Christians. Yet, I still have that little bit of doubt...
I think the reason for that doubt is because people don't like being taken out of their comfort zones. It makes them nervous. Who do people usually go to for these situations? [Besides God], their best friend. What happens if they lose that person though? I believe that my doubt, the doubt that is a result from change, from fear, from not being comfortable, is also a result from being apart from my best friend.
What makes me feel horrible is that this doubt is unnecessary! I know that everything that is happening is in God's hands, and still, I'm afraid.

Matthew 14:30-32
"Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. 'You of little faith,' he said, 'why did you doubt?' And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down."

Wednesday March 11, 2009 -Proverbs 6:16-19

Proverbs 6:16-19 (New International Version)

There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:

haughty eyes,

a lying tongue,

       hands that shed innocent blood,

a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,

a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Cliques..?

We all know that there are cliques in school. Everybody wants to be in the "cool" group...Which is almost impossible to get into, unless you are willing to step out of your comfort zone. Nobody likes Cliques, and everyone agrees that they shouldn't be around. Then, the one place that there shouldn't be Cliques, there is.. church. Church is supposed to be the place where everyone is accepted and is equal. So why are there Cliques? We need to do something Christians!!!!! We need to show people, that no matter who they are, no matter where they are from, they are always welcome! We need to love them. Let's start this, let's get rid of those dang cliques!!!!

Biblical guidelines for dating & relationships

I did some research about Biblical guidelines for dating and relationships.. I grabbed some things off of Christian Answers.

I will probably use Christian Answers in the future. Here is a good section from it though!

"1. Guard your heart.
The Bible tells us to be very careful about giving our
affections, because our heart influences everything else in our life.

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23).
2. You are known by the company you keep.

We also tend to become like the company we keep. This principle is closely related to the first one and is just as important in friendships as in dating.

Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33).
3. Christians should only date other Christians.

Although it is fine for Christians to have non-Christian friends, those who are especially close to our heart should be mature believers who are seeking to follow Christ with their lives.

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14).
4. Is it really love?
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 defines real love. Ask yourself these questions:
    • Are you patient with each other?
    • Are you kind to each other?
    • Are you never envious of each other?
    • Do you never boast to or about each other?
    • Is your relationship characterized by humility?
    • Are you never rude to each other?
    • Are you not self-seeking?
    • Are you not easily angered with each other?
    • Do you keep no record of wrongs?
    • Are you truthful with each other?
    • Do you protect each other?
    • Do you trust each other?

If you answered “yes” to the above questions, then 1 Corinthians 13 says that you truly have a loving relationship. If you answered “no” to any of the above questions, then maybe you should discuss those issues with your boyfriend or girlfriend."

The World Around Us

"Back in the good ol' days." Has anybody ever heard that statement before? [I know I have.] Sometimes people overlook that, think that they are crazy for thinking that times in the past were better than growing up now. In some ways they weren't, but at the same time, I sympathize with people who say that, to a point, they are correct.

I want you to answer a few questions. [1] Do you think that it is right, that people are afraid to walk down the street at night, because they are afraid something bad will happen? [2] Do you think that it is allowable for kids to drop out of school? [3] Do you think that is excuseable for people to be married more than once? [4] Or to have sex outside of marriage?

If you ask a majority of the people in this world, they will at least say yes to 2, if not 3 of those questions.

Back in the good old days;

1.You didn't hear of all these stories of kids being murdered for walking down the street. You weren't afraid to walk past windows at night, because of the chance someone was looking in. Why, is that not the case nowadays?

2. Kids weren't allowed to drop out of school, and if they did, they weren't allowed to come home.  Why has that changed now?

3. People who were married to someone other than their husband or wife, [first one, of course] were considered scarlet letters. You were looked down upon. Now, people change spouses like they do dishes.

4. People used to be so much more 'old fashioned,' it was definatly inexcuseable to have sex outside of marriage. It never happened. People were so disciplined back then. Nowadays, people lose their virginity [outside of marriage] by the age 18. [66.2% of Americans lose their virginity before age 18.] (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Why is this? Back in the good old days, the world was brought up with Christian morals, and a majority of the people still believed in God. They knew what the difference between right and wrong was, and they knew that their was a Father who enforced this law.
If you mention God these days to somebody, there is a very good chance they won't listen, maybe won't even talk to you.

Maybe, just maybe, everybody is right. Those were the good ol' days. Living nowadays is much harder, the world around us is very corrupt. There will be a day where Jesus will come back and reign again, and until that day comes, we can only pray for the best, and teach his law. Fight back!

Go against the everyday stereotypes

Have you ever run into somebody in public who is rude to everybody around them? Who says harsh words to innocent people, without thinking about how that might make the person feel? Let's imagine ourselves in that position... While most of the time we may be gentle and kind to those around us, does that mean that we never have days of evil? I assure you that this is not the case.

We don't always understand situations other people may be in. Everybody goes through trials in their Christian life. During this time, their moods, attitudes, and their outlook on life may be affected. We as Christians are at times so judgemental, that before we even know what the other person may be going through, we let our judgements run wild. This is not okay.
I have a challenge for everybody.. The next time you see somebody you know, before taking in their appearance,  ask them how they are doing, how their walk with God is doing, and if they need any prayer about their life. This will probably make them feel a little better, and will help them recognize that they are not the only ones going through some hard times.

Inner beauty is what determines somebodys appearance, not how they look. Sure, looks effect your appearance to a point, but beauty goes a lot deeper than that. Inner beauty is determined by love, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control, etc.  If you can show these things to those around you, others will want to be around you more. Don't be the the Christian that fits into the stereotype for Christians, [Hypocrite, Judgemental]. Be a shining star to those around you, because you are a follower of Jesus!

Wednesday, March 4, 2009 -1 John 3:18

Bible verse of the day!

"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and truth."
-1 John 3:18

Twilight

Yes, I am one of those "Twilighters." You may think that that is ironic, since I say I follow God, and the book is about vampires. I believe there is a message though that the book series sends teen girls. You need to look beyond the fact that the story involves vampires, because the story really teaches girls to follow their dreams. People in this world teach girls that dreams don't come true, and that their is no such thing as guys who treat girls correctly. Neither thing is true, and yet people, girls all over the world believe these lies. Dreams won't come true, if you don't believe they will. All you have to do is pray. Have faith for once in your lie. This book series gives girls the hope that people won't give them anywhere else.

I suggest reading this series, and renewing the hope we all once had growing up.

Wake up World

I know you probably are thinking that this is not a traditional first posting on a blog. This posting is much needed though. It's a wake up call. It begins with a girl named Naomi. Naomi was in a bad car accident just a few weeks ago. She has been hospitalized since then, and slowly as a result from medicine, hope, prayer, and support, Naomi has been slowly getting better. People may not be able to see the good in this accident, but clearly there is good. This was an eye opening experience for those in Rochester, for those across the country even. God works in amazing ways, that people don't always understand. I believe though that this event that occured, made many people turn from their own selfish ways to seek God and pray. That is a start, isn't it? I believe that if people just turn their heart over to God, than miracles can be made.

Recently, I attended the Revolve Tour, which is a 2 day event for teen girls. It helps girls think about the correct reactions to situations that may come up in your teen years. They told us this, "Once upon a time, someone changed the world." They then told us to change someone, and insert our name there. "Once upon a time, Hollianne changed the world." Insert your name into that space.

We need to wake up world, we need to do something, and what better time to do it, than now?
